In Oregon there are both addiction treatment programs and intervention programs. Often the addicted person is even aware that they have a problem but they deny it. In some cases it is up to the loved ones to seek help first. Convincing the addict they have a problem and helping them to realize it isn’t easy but it is best for the addict.
There are many programs that are fairly new and didn’t even used to exist. Each Oregon addiction treatment and program is specially geared toward each individual because no two people are the same. No two lives are the same and no two sets of circumstances are the same. Using the same program on everyone went out years ago.
Available now are day programs, inpatient and outpatient treatment programs. In cases of addiction to drugs like Meth or Heroin, there are often medications given to help alleviate the withdrawal symptoms. In some cases of mild addiction there is no detoxification needed. The circumstances surrounding each person and each addiction can be so varied which is why there are so many options now.
The addict may or may not want the help but it is imperative that they get it. Intervention programs are wonderful because loved ones suffer too, sometimes even more than the addict. The addict has an escape but the loved one must see them go through all of the problems associated with the addiction.
A happy future is possible. No matter who you are or where you are at you can make a happy life for yourself. Once you see how many options are available and how much help there is to guide you on your way to being drug and/or alcohol free you will wonder why you didn’t seek help earlier. A drug/alcohol counselor can help you choose which Oregon addiction treatment and program options may be best for you but it is ultimately up to you.
